Kibwe McGann puts face on new Puma scent
published: Friday | May 21, 2004

Saint International's Kibwe McGann is the new male face for Puma fragrance campaign. According to a release from Saint, Kibwe was selected to promote the fragrance, Puma Jamaica, after a worldwide search that ended with Kibwe being selected over another Saint model, London-based Tafari Hinds. It was Kibwe's 'personality', and 'transcontinental appeal' that, according to the release, "won the hearts of the clients".

The television and print campaigns were shot in Annotto Bay and Montego Bay respectively and will be seen in over 25 countries, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The fragrance, launched in Naples, Italy, where Kibwe was a special guest, reportedly emerged a "stand-out amongst other high profile brands such as Escada, Gucci, Rochas, Naomi Campbell and others" when Kibwe danced on stage to Sean Paul's Gimme De Light.

Kibwe started his international modelling career at Saint over four years ago. He departed for South Africa shortly after, where he reportedly became "an instant hit with major clients in Johannesburg and Cape Town". Last year, Kibwe was offered a contract by Elite Atlanta and is also signed to top Milan agency, Major Models. Kibwe is invited to Milan for the "highly exclusive men's fashion collections" in June.

He will also make an appearance at Saint International's Style Week, May 23 - 30 in Jamaica.
