Dramatics poised to repeat
published: Friday | May 21, 2004

By Orville Clarke, Freelance Writer

THE PICK-9 carryover on tomorrow's 10-race programme at Caymanas Park stands at a whopping $758,253,30 and indications are a payout in excess of $1 million is on the cards.

The Pick-9 will embrace races two to 10 and the Super-6 from five to 10.

As usual, the focus is on the Super-6. It kicks off with a competitive looking circular nine race (claiming $170,000 - $145,000) to be contested by nine starters including PROCEEDACCORDINGLY, MAHENDRA EXPRESS, DR. SIMRAN and KYLE'S DIVA, all winners in recent weeks.

PROCEEDACCORDINGLY beat a good field over 1500 metres on April 17 before he was firmly put in his place by GATLIN in his subsequent race over 1300 metres, this in much better company. Now back among his peers, PROCEEDACOORDINGLY with top apprentice Paul Francis riding for trainer Rudolp Hardial, should be good enough to lead home KYLE'S DIVA and BLITZKRIEG.

Those looking for a good outsider could try JACK DE FREAK who didn't run badly behind MANISH over the distance on April 3 when beaten three lengths.

Briefly, recent winner DRAMATICS who got up in the nick of time to catch FRENCH MINISTER in a recent 1200-metre race, should follow up in the sixth race over her pet distance, the straight five course.

Super fit FRENCH MINISTER will again prove dangerous, along with course specialist DIANA'S HOPE in the field of 11. I also like one-time course specialist AWESOME MINISTER, now dropped to the lowest claiming level, to put away CRUCIAL SEASON and BIG BELLY SAM in the seventh race again over the straight.

Then, take TANGO DANCER to lead home PLEASANT WOOD and STAR CREEK in the knotty eighth race, Superstakes winner PITTACUS (working impressively) as a banker in the ninth for the Owen Silvera Memorial Cup, and SIR CHACHA BABA over old rival ASYNJUR in the closing race for the Joshua Morrison Memorial Cup.
