Lara still has the magic wand

THE EDITOR, Sir:Brian Charles Lara demonstrated his magic once more when he hammered the English bowlers to all ends of the field at the Antigua Recreation Ground. This was to the relief of the Caribbean community who were in total loss due to the impending white wash. Harmison and company had to endure the agony of King Lara. Lara chipped and drove the ball to every single part of the field with absolute precision. He hooked, he drove, pulled, flicked and totally mesmerised the English attack with his savage statement.
Lara went on to achieve a most remarkable feat in a total of 400 runs unprecedented in the Test arena. Prior to the last Test we were battered and belittled by Harmison and company. Harmison looked tired and weak at the middle of Lara innings, it seems he deliberately stepped on the restricted area because he did not want his figures to be devastated anymore. Criticism by the West Indian people has brought out the best in Lara.
Lara is maybe one of the best cricketers to ever touch a bat. He has eagle like eyesight, which easily placed him among the best batsman ever in Test cricket. The talent in a genius is innate, but to master anything it requires hard, tedious efforts. All other cricketers are mere mortals, Lara of the proud West Indian people, is sheer genius in class and action.
