By Anthony Foster, Freelance WriterDESPITE facing tough defending champions and fourth place Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) in an away match at Up Park Camp, leaders Melbourne could confirm their semi-final spot in the Supreme Ventures Super Cup.
A win for Melbourne in the feature match of the new-look multi-million dollar competition would push them to 28 points, making them unlikely to be passed by more than three teams.
Melbourne against JDF should be of some quality with West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels playing for the visitors and Wayne Cuff turning out for the champions.
JDF have not lost a match at Camp for more than 10 years but Melbourne's nail-biting one-day victory over the soldiers last year gives the visitors the psychological edge.
Melbourne will have the services of Marlon Samuels, Donovan Pagon, Ray Stewart, Dillion Ebanks, Nikita Miller, Roman Hutchinson, Yanick Elliott who is coming off a century last week and Leon Bent for victory.
Mel Wint, with two centuries this season, Cuff, Anthony Folkes, Mark Grey, Damion Grey, Warren Wedwinter and Paul Brown, should lead JDF team.
