Argument on gays shocking
published: Thursday | May 27, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IN YOUR issue of May 22 (Mind & Spirit) a prominent Baptist pastor was reported to have made a statement that I consider absolutely shocking. Yet in the interview, as reported, he was not challenged to justify it.

I am writing, therefore, in the interest of good journalism and scientific accuracy to have the pastor, or anyone else who can, defend the truth of what he was reported to have said.

This is the contentious statement: 'some people are born homosexuals'. On what authority is this statement based?

I am, etc.,

ADUWA AKAN

Kingston
