Becca

Former Gleaner Senior Sport Editor Tony Becca has been appointed foreman of the Wisden Jury which will select the five greatest West Indian cricketers the high point of the Scotiabank Jubilee celebrations. The 30-man jury will cast its votes throughout this month and the results will be announced at the Scotiabank Jubilee Gala on July 27 in Birmingham, England. "Set aside any bias towards your own region and your own era and name the five whose excellence at cricket during the past 75 years made the greatest contribution to the game," Becca told his Jury members. "Excellence can be interpreted broadly; it is legitimate to take into account leadership qualities, personality, character and impact on the public," he said.See our published Scotiabank Jubilee special on Pages B4-11 and also the online Sports section.
