Ja extends sympathies on Reagan's passing
published: Sunday | June 6, 2004

Patterson

PRIME MINISTER P.J. Patterson issued the following statement on the death of former United States President Ronald Reagan yesterday:

I wish to extend my deepest sympathy at the passing of former President of the United States of America Ronald Reagan.

Without a doubt, former President Reagan lived a full and long life - from a film-making career in Hollywood to occupying the highest political office in the United States and becoming the 40th president, a position he would hold for eight years.

Regrettably, the debilitating illness with which former President Reagan was afflicted in the last few years of his life's journey, robbed him of his cheerful demeanor and jovial character for which he was well-known. We are sure that he faced the sunset of his life with dignity. On behalf of the Government and people of Jamaica, I extend my heart-felt condolences to his wife, Nancy, the rest of his family and the people of the United States.
