Resume hanging now!
published: Friday | June 11, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

DOES THIS country/government need any more reason for the resumption of hanging? Today's Gleaner 06/09/2004 'Double murder rocks MoBay'. The dead have been identified as shop assistant Paulette Morris and her son Javaughn Williams, a student of the Mt. Salem All-Age School. Ms. Morris had gunshot wounds to her upper body while her son had a single gunshot wound to the back of his head."

People, Jamaicans - eight years old! Human rights? Are these, or should these killers be considered humans? Maybe they are already classified as non-humans, hence the sidelining of the gallows.

I am, etc.,

VINCENT A WHITE
