Illegal garages
published: Friday | June 11, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WOULD like to publicly congratulate Mr. Desmond McKen-zie on the wonderful job he has been doing since his appointment as Mayor of Kingston. I'm now 55 years of age and did not know the responsibility of a Mayor until he got into office. Keep up the good work.

But as it relates to getting these illegal garages of the street I waited with much anticipation to hear the mention of Duhaney Park as one of the areas designated but no mention was made of it. Mr. McKenzie/Mr. Green, this area needs to be visited urgently as the operators have no consideration for the residents; the vehicles are parked anywhere, with the accompanying waste oil and grease and old batteries. Our property is messed up and depreciated, all because someone wants to make a quick dollar.

I'm all for law and order and agree that these illegal garages need to go through the proper channel. I'm on early retirement and am home in the days and there is no peace, because of the constant noise made by these motor vehicles. Please Mr. Mayor, visit Swift Avenue and Walcott in Duhaney Park.

I am, etc.,

CONCERNED

SENIOR CITIZEN

Duhaney Park
