Jamaicans, be warned!
published: Wednesday | June 16, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir;

I AM a Jamaican living in the Bahamas. I would like my fellow Jamaicans to know that there are persons who are cheating Jamaicans out of thousands of dollars under the pretence of getting them into the Bahamas and having jobs ready for them. This is absolutely false. These persons are brought here, their monies taken, then they are put up in a motel someplace.

When their visitor status runs out they are then picked up by immigration officers and deported. This has been happening for a while, so my fellow Jamaicans, be warned!

I am etc.,
