BoJ: leave credit unions alone!
THE EDITOR, Sir: I HAVE just come from my credit union's members meeting where I was surprised to hear that the Bank of Jamaica (BoJ) wants new regulations to limit unsecured credit to only 5 per cent of all the loans that the credit union can grant.

Better use of funds, please!
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT IS ironic that a Government that has no funds to control the epidemic of rats in New Kingston, that cannot maintain its gullies and drains, that cannot repair its roads in rural areas, that cannot repair its police stations...

Broaden rights concepts, Amnesty Int'l
THE EDITOR, Sir: PLEASE GRANT me space to congratulate Amnesty International for coming out in support of a victim of a crime rather than the perpetrator of the crime.

Energy saving policy needed
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE RISE in the global oil prices recently has raised many eyebrows, not only by the Government, but almost every individual living in this beloved land of ours.

Heed Minott's wake up call
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE RECENT study conducted by Dr. Dennis Minott on the performance of the secondary schools in the 2003 CXC examinations in 16 subjects has certainly stirred up a hornet's nest.

Garbage at the library
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM very disappointed in the behaviour of some of the people who go to Morant Bay to do business, or pleasure.

Where are the Public Health authorities?
THE EDITOR, Sir: I READ with disbelief a recent headline in The Gleaner 'Rats Attack - Churches New Kingston closes as rodents run amok'.

Reagan's contribution to Jamaica
THE EDITOR, Sir: AMID ALL the eulogies to the late President of the United States, Mr Ronald Reagan, we should not forget some of his contributions to Jamaica.
