THE EDITOR, Sir:
I AM very disappointed in the behaviour of some of the people who go to Morant Bay to do business, or pleasure.
Questions to be answered are:
1. Why do some people find it necessary to dump garbage at the library in the place designated for flowers, and beautification?
2. Is there a word other than 'disgraceful' for me to use when someone dumps garbage at a Library?
3. When are we going to act as civilised people, after so many people made so much effort to educate our people?
4. Will the people dumping trash all over the place take a leaf out of Mr. John Maxwell's book, and learn the importance of keeping our environment clean and safe for all?
5. Is there an Anti-litter Act?
I asked those five questions because I would like to let those people dumping trash anywhere, get the true message of the danger they are creating to the environment, and our own health.
I am calling on the people in authority to let the Anti-litter Act serve its purpose by taking the offenders to court, and when they are proven guilty, they are ordered by the court to do some time on the street, cleaning up their mess.
I believe punishment will send a clear message to those who are doing such a disgrace to our historic town. Be environmentally-friendly.
I am, etc.,
