Worth the wait

THE EDITOR, Sir:
WITH THE dualisation of Howard Cooke Boulevard and Alice Eldemire Drive in Montego Bay now complete we would like to express our appreciation to all the parties involved. Over the past couple of years, this great task was well executed by the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) and West Indies Home Contractors (WIHCON), and while there were temporary inconveniences, were confident that we speak on behalf of the entire city when we say that, in the end, it was worth it.
Local residents who use the roads daily, tourists travelling to and from Negril, cruise ship passengers visiting our port, and commuters passing through the city will all benefit from the efficient and speedy flow of traffic.
As residents, we are particularly pleased with the excellent landscaping efforts and, as members of the Chamber of Commerce, are committed to helping with its long-term maintenance.
Congratulations once again to all who worked so hard on this project. Their efforts fill us all with civic pride.
I am, etc.,
