THE ROTARY Club of Ocho Rios, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Arlington, New York, yesterday donated over US$56,000 in medical supplies and equipment to the North East Regional Health Authority, comprising the parishes of St. Ann and St. Mary.

The donations were made to the St. Ann's Bay, Port Maria, and Annotto Bay hospitals, as well as a number of health clinics. The main items received were several cardiac monitors, two anaesthesia machines, several recliner chairs, a number of surgical disposable items, 22 bassinets, one diathermy machine and several respirator therapy items.

Vice-president of the Rotary Club of Ocho Rios, Pixley Irons, said his organisation has been committed for a long time to assist with medical supplies in the region, noting that "we are indeed happy with the assistance we received from the Arlington, New York chapter."
