Big day for the Boyz
published: Sunday | June 20, 2004

JAMAICA'S Reggae Boyz will host Haiti at the National Stadium at 6:00 p.m. today in a World Cup match crucial to either team's chances of advancing to the next round of the CONCACAF qualifying series.

Both teams are heading into this evening's showdown on level terms after playing to a 1-1 tie in their first leg meeting at the Orange Bowl, Florida, two Saturdays ago. However, if either team fail to score today the homesters, who are expected to be buoyed by a full house, will advance by virtue of FIFA's away goal rule.

Last week, the Reggae Boyz were greatly incapacitated by injuries to a number of key players such as Ricardo Fuller, Theodore Whitmore, Ian Goodison and Ricardo Gardner. They are expected to add the much needed fillip to the team in its march toward a spot in the group semi-final phase.
