Medical hospitals too far away
published: Tuesday | June 22, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE ROADBLOCK protest in Annotto Bay came about because of the rumour that the hospital in Annotto Bay will be closed down.

The people have said that other medical hospitals are much too far away to service the people that live in this section of the island.

The business details of having the hospital to work in Annotto Bay must be explained in detail to the Jamaican organisations in Canada, the United Kingdom and the U.S.A.

These organisations overseas can support having the hospital and the Jamaican doctors and nurses from the overseas nations can rotate to service the hospital on a month-to-month basis. This is a system that must get a chance to be put to work.

I am, etc.,

JOHN B. OGILVIE
