General Accident look to write off Shell
published: Tuesday | June 22, 2004

Paul Walker, Staff Reporter

RALLY CHAMPIONS General Accident Insurance Company will be aiming to stretch their unbeaten streak to two games when they play Shell in Business House Netball Association Open League match today at the Leila Robinson Courts.

The games are scheduled for 5:45 and 6:30 p.m.

The afternoon's first game will see action between Courts and the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS).

JPS have already shown they can pull off big victories, dispatching Guardian Life 27-8 recently. Courts are still chasing their first win after being beaten 19-11 by National Housing Trust in their first game.

Courts have it all to do against JPS, who got their first-game jitters out of the way and know what they are capable of.

In another game, Lascelles play National Water Commission 'B', both teams' first match.

Shell have another big match-up on their hands against Rally champs General Accident Insurance. They have shown they are capable though, having made an impressive start to the Open League with a 34-7 win over last year's Intermediate 'A' champions, NEM Insurance.

Shell have shown themselves to be a good team and featured in a close first game with NEM, losing by five points. They rebounded to win a close 14-12 match against Port Authority.

The 5:45 game has Guardian Life and NHDC going head to head. That match will give good opportunity for both teams to tally a win after both were victims of thrashings in their first outings.

The final set of games will see The Jamaica National Building Society playing Carreras and the Bank of Nova Scotia 'B' going up against Azans.

JNBS will be looking for their second win whereas the Carreras Group will be looking for their first win, having lost their opening game against the Bank of Jamaica 14-18.

Azans will be playing their first game against BNS 'B', who are already battle-worn, having had a close 12-10 win over Life of Jamaica in their first match.
