'What sign?'
published: Thursday | June 24, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ON SATURDAY, June 19, 2004 after leaving a friend on Derrymore Road, I proceeded to go across Eastwood Park Road on to Constant Spring Road only after doing this I was stopped by the police and ticketed for disobeying a road sign. My first question to the officer was "What sign?" After being told where the sign was, which was not at the corner of Derrymore Road and Eastwood Park Road, I felt victimised not by the police but by whoever is responsible for putting up these signs in the correct places.

I have no problem with being ticketed for road offences, however someone needs to put this sign in the right place and in my opinion this sign should not be 50-100 feet away from the actual turning point. This sign needs to be in one place only, at the corner of Derrymore Road and Eastwood Park Road so that people can see it.

I am, etc.,

'THE DEAN'
