Kool97 FM has vision

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I COULD NOT help but notice the Page 2 story in today's Gleaner (June 23) extolling the virtues of Mr. Kenny Benjamin and the Guardsman Group of Companies and his advertising agent Mr. Robert McMillan for publishing an ongoing series of uplifting messages in The Gleaner recently.
While I commend both gentlemen for their innovative contribution, I must hasten to add that this is in no way original as radio station Kool97 FM has been broadcasting a series of 'Kool Messages' since their inception in November 2001. These are 30-60 second messages of awareness, inspiration, upliftment and encouragement by famous world leaders, celebrities and personalities from all spheres of life, broadcast every hour, on the half hour, for almost three years running.
They have been so effective that I noticed other radio stations have come up with their own versions. So while I do support your story about Messrs. Benjamin and McMillan et al, let's also 'big up' Kool97 FM - my favourite radio station for their vision.
I am, etc.,
