Repair Hope Hill catchment tank
published: Tuesday | June 29, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WRITE to bring to the attention of Mayor Robert Montaque, chairman of the St. Mary Parish Council, the need for immediate repairs to be effected to the Hope Hill catchment tank which serves the areas of Long Road, Edie Hill, Atlanta and Hope Hill with water.

The source was extensively damaged by the rains of May 2004. Since then, the residents are experiencing severe difficulties in getting water for their domestic use, resulting in them using water from the Long Road All Age School tank which is almost depleted.

In view of the above situation that exists, I am asking that the tanks be repaired immediately so as to bring back normality to the lives of the many residents affected.

I am, etc.,

VALERIE WALTERS

Councillor Caretaker

Annotto Bay Division
