Do not beat and mistreat homosexuals
published: Wednesday | June 30, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I DO NOT support homosexuality. However homosexuals are individuals and should be treated equally just as others who are not homosexual. I do not believe that individuals should be beaten and mistreated because of their sexuality.

Beating and mistreating persons because of their sexuality is WRONG.

People should be allowed their privacy. If homosexuals are not public with their sexuality and practise it in their home, a homophobic person should not invade their home to harm them. Homosexuals should also understand that while in public, their behaviour pertaining to their sexuality is crucial, as they cannot be indulging in any sexual activity while in the public eye and expect to be accepted in this homophobic country. Homosexuality is a sin and parents will see the need to protect their children from this.

I am, etc.,
