Which Smile Jamaica?
published: Saturday | July 3, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I FEEL compelled to respond to John Roberts' letter of June 30, 2004 ("Dress to Impress, please").

Certainly he must have been watching some other programme. But then again, assuming it was the same programme that I try not to miss (especially on Wednesdays and Fridays), Mr. Roberts may have had difficulty with the transmission on his set.

Firstly, I have noticed (as I am sure everyone else has) that Friday mornings are 'easy mornings', compared to Wednesdays when the hosts are attired in Mr. Roberts' 'dress shirt, tie and dress slacks'. There have also been many occasions on which the hosts are wearing shirts obviously given to them as promotional items for manufacturers who oftentimes appear on the same programme.

Mr. Roberts, have your set checked please. Thereafter, observe very closely how the 'dappers' handle even 'casually elegant'.

I am, etc.,

JEAN ALLEN

Kingston 8
