THE EDITOR, Sir:

I USUALLY enjoy reading Garth Rattray's column. On one occasion I even called and complimented him for a particularly felicitous phrase.

So I was very surprised today (July 7) to find myself wading through a flash flood of obscure (when not downright archaic) words such as 'fulminant', 'congeal the nebulous susurrations', 'funambulist' and 'alpha males' ­ all this in an article on Mr. Seaga and the JLP, a subject of great interest and importance to all Jamaicans, not just those with PhDs in Scrabble!

I anxiously await the return of the columnist I know.
