Gospel finalists a varied lot

Artiste: Andrea Nelson/Song: Pray

Born in Portland on September 25, 1973, Andrea started her singing ministry at the City Mission Church and at 16 was appointed director of the Youth Choir and lead singer for the group 'Blood Singers'. She holds a Bachelor's degree in business education from the University of Technology (UTech) and is currently a teacher of accounts and principles of business at the St. Mary High School.

Artiste: Yvette Webb/Song: He Loves Me So

Yvette's talent was recognised from primary school, where she started singing at devotions and graduations. Now she is a regular performer at weddings and other functions. She is currently lead singer for the Emmanuel Mass Choir and her favourite quotes are 'In everything give Him thanks' and 'God is Good'.

Artiste: Lubert Levy/Song: More Blessings Again

He is a deacon and preacher at the Windsor Heights New Testament Church of God and is one of five entrants from St. Catherine in this year's competition. Lubert, who is no stranger to song competitions, was a finalist in Tastee Talent Competition in 2003 and says he sees his God-given mission as Ministry, touching lives through singing and the spoken word.

Artiste: Nichole Crawford/Song: Take My Heart

She hails from the parish of Manchester and describes herself as an active member of the Knockpatrick Seventh Day Adventist Church, but most of all a child of God. She is currently a student at the Northern Caribbean University (NCU), where she is pursuing a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in secondary education.

Artiste: Rohan Clarke/Song: Satan's Kingdom

Born in St. Ann, Rohan says he is from a musical family and his interest began from as early as nine years old. He started out playing the guitar at the Lower Buxton Church of God Mt. Zion Seventh Day and at 16 was lead singer on the youth choir. Rohan says he is on a mission not only to win souls for Christ, but also to have a successful singing ministry.

Artiste: Gary Campbell/Song: Ballad of a Prodigal

Gary, who hails from Guy's Hill, St. Catherine, says he decided to follow Christ at age 14. He has a special passion for music and says he will play the guitar at any given opportunity. Above all, however, he says he loves to study the word of God and being known as a worshipper.

Artiste: Racquel Hinds/Song: In The Midst Of Your Storm

This 15-year-old student says she enjoys singing, dancing and socialising. She is choir director at the church at which she was baptised over seven years ago and her guiding philosophy is "whatever the mind conceives, the body can achieve".

Artiste: JABEZ/Song: Island Healing

His real name is Clive Provost and he was born in Linstead, St. Catherine. JABEZ has been singing since age 14. He has won numerous Youth for Christ and JCDC national awards. He is a praise leader and choir director and says he gets his inspiration from God.

Artiste - Lisa Johnson/Song: Wings Around My Heart

Born Olavien Alicia Johnson on August 12, 1973, in Manchester, Lisa's talent was discovered early and utilised in school plays and concerts.

She has won numerous awards, among them is first place in the Caribbean Christian Broadcasting Network (CCBN) gospel finals in New Jersey in 1994. She has also previously done two albums and is planning to release a third soon.
