Jamaica rated sexiest honeymoon destination
published: Wednesday | July 21, 2004

JAMAICA HAS been rated the Caribbean's sexiest honeymoon destination, according to a survey conducted by Modern Bride magazine.

And Wykeham McNeill, Minister of State for Industry and Tourism, yesterday lauded the country's tourism players for the ranking in the House of Representatives. He was making his contribution to the 2004/05 Sec-toral Debate.

"What I want to do is to thank our hotels, attractions, Air Jamaica, the Jamaica Tourist Board and especially our proud tourism workers for putting Jamaica at the pinnacle of the wedding and honeymoon market," said Mr. McNeill.

Modern Bride magazine recently unveiled the 'World's 50 Best Honeymoons', as featured in the August/September issue's eighth annual honeymoon survey of 3,000 of America's top travel agents.

Top honeymoon destinations

Hawaii is ranked as the number one honeymoon spot for the eighth year in a row.

Jamaica, now in second place (third in 2003), is the sexiest honeymoon destination in the Caribbean.

Mexico is in the top three, offering affordability and new hotels and resorts.

Tahiti, including Moorea and Bora Bora, seduce newly-weds to the seclusion of the South Pacific.

St. Lucia is secluded and sexy.

Italy tops the list in food and culture.

U.S. Virgin Islands gives honeymooners three-for-one with beautiful St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John.

Aruba's sunny weather ensures it a top spot for beaches and water sport lovers.

Las Vegas and its 130,000 hotel rooms and titillating nightlife make it a top hot spot.

Bermuda with all its British refinement beckons honeymooners seeking true serenity.
