WRAY AND Nephew National Premier League champions Tivoli Gardens drove away from the Hilton Kingston Hotel with more than $2 million in prize money and numerous silverware, thanks to their exploits last season.
The West Kingston side copped $1 million for winning the NPL and another $1 million for topping the preliminary rounds. Tivoli also pocketed $50,000 for the team with the most preliminary round wins and $30,000 for being the best managed club.
Adding to that bag, Tivoli's Kasai Hinds lifted the winning captain's award which was accompanied by $10,000; Glendon 'Admiral' Bailey pocketed $20,000 and the winning coach award. He also won the Coach of the Year award which was accompanied by $50,000.
MOST DECORATED
Meanwhile, the man to whom many attributed Tivoli's success, Fabian Davis, came up trumps at the awards leaving the presentation as the wealthiest and most decorated player. 'Fabulous' as he is called, was adjudged The Tony Burrowes Player Personality of the Year award, the MVP of the final round ($20,000 and trophy) and player of the season ($50,000 and trophy).
Portmore United also came in for their share of the awards. Apart from being declared the season's Fair Play team, a feat for which they received $50,000 and a trophy, the Lenworth Hyde-coached side received $100,000 and trophy for being the best defensive team. Similarly, their custodian, Sean Sawyers, who conceded only 17 goals was voted the top goalkeeper for the third consecutive season. For this Sawyers pocketed $20,000.
Meanwhile, in the JFF Under-21s, Kemar Peterkin of Harbour View hit the podium twice to collect awards for the top goalscorer and player of the season. Portmore United, who won that competition, pocketed $150,000.
