Thanks, Sandals
published: Saturday | July 24, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WENT to Sandals Dunn's River hotel in Summer 2003 as a summer worker with the intention of working hard, getting paid and saving to help pay my college tuition. To my surprise I did a lot more than that.

Working at the resort gave me experience, exposure and excitement. I got to meet new people who are successful, ambitious and intelligent. I also learnt the importance of a smile and a greeting that warms the heart.

I also learnt about the tourist industry, its impact on the country and why it's important to have tourists in the industry.

I learnt how important it is to treat members well in any organization. I have learnt why community relations are important in any organization just to name a few.

I would like to thank all the team members and managers who have assisted me last year and again this year, to grow in the industry, those who have moulded me and welcomed me.

I am, etc.,
