Grateful for teachers
published: Saturday | July 24, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THIS IS an open letter to all teachers/educators:

On behalf of the students of Jamaica, I wish to express gratitude to you all for the effort you have made this last academic year to impart knowledge and skills to us. Many of you went beyond your call of duty.

Teaching is by no means an easy task. This last year has seen much criticisms from many who have never even spent a day as a teacher in a classroom. Sure there are those who need to break up their fallow ground. However there are those who have given of their very best.

Special thanks to Dr. Royes Graham, Sybil James and Daphne Reid, who have contributed significantly to my education this academic year.

May you commit to making excellence a lifestyle. Thank you

I am, etc.,

M. WRIGHT
