Stop praising criminals
published: Tuesday | July 27, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

CRIMINALS TODAY in Jamaica are looked upon as decent law-abiding citizens, especially by members in the communities they are from. These criminals are welcomed in the communities instead of being treated like outcasts.

Young children now want to be like them, because they is treated with so much respect. Our communities should recognise that the money these criminals bring in the communities is not acquired honestly. It is 'thieving' money. For the sake of our children, Jamaicans stop embracing and praising these people. Only then will we get OUR Jamaica back.

I am, etc.,

O. BECKFORD
