most famous and healthy breakfast, the KiYara Ocean Spa Breakfast, served up at Jamaica Inn, in Ocho Rios. Jamaica Inn's KiYara Ocean Spa breakfast is a dash of new age wrapped in roots and culture and topped with the spirit of the island for a hearty Jamaican feel that keeps you all day long. Freelance Writer Rosemary Parkinson describes her spa breakfast and shows how you can dress up yours with a little spa chic with two of the recipes (including Rasta Ackee) on the menu. REMEMBER WHEN Mom used to say that a healthy breakfast makes you strong, healthy and wise? Jamaica Inn resting on the shores of Ocho Rios, St. Ann, must have realised that the Arawak Indians knew all about this adage, for they have named one of their most famous and healthy breakfasts the KiYara Ocean Spa Breakfast.

KiYara, meaning the Sacred Of The Earth Spirit in the Arawak language, could also have meant plain old breakfast to those who roamed our lands so many moons ago.

Starting with a delicious glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, one's Vitamin C is immediately taken care of. Next, delve into an array of Jamaican fruits. Banana gives us potassium while other fruits such as mango, pineapple, honeydew melon and watermelon provide enough of other nutrients to keep us going through the day.

But no need to stop there. How about a bowl of natural granola with low-fat milk, followed by an egg white omelette filled with smoked salmon, low-fat cheese and herbs. And who says that a little extra carbohydrate is not good for you? Delicious, freshly baked bran muffins and wholewheat toast followed by a good herbal tea never did anyone any harm.

After this there is no reason to eat again for the whole day and, guess what, you will have more energy and brainpower to get those daily chores done as quick as a wink -- either in the office or at home. Or, if you are on holidays, kick back and go straight to the beach. Let's all have a healthy and pleasurable summer.
