'He who laughs last...'
published: Thursday | July 29, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

PLEASE ALLOW me to express concerns over certain 'aliens' in our territory. This is in response to a letter published in The Gleaner on Monday, July 26, written by D. Alleyene.

Sir it is most unbelievable that someone would be so 'dry yie'. She has left her home to come here and study and you tell me not even thanks for that. While I might agree that we have plunged into somewhat of a social crisis, that is no reason to rejoice - how very hypocritical. Just what is she doing here? I'm very angry and disappointed to know that our island is being of much benefit to her and she's thinking of us in such a manner. But then 'he who laughs last, laughs best'. Watch out, because I'm praying, and so are others. Our God answers prayers, we'll (Jamaicans) be OK again, and when we get there, please feel free to come back and enjoy the many blessings.

May God be with you, study hard so you can get out of the crime-ridden society and go home to your 'bed of roses'.

I am, etc.,

O'NEIL ARMSTRONG
