Portmore people test the matter!
published: Wednesday | August 4, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS so amazing that under the chairmanship of Kingsley Thomas, NHT funds were used to build a second park in close proximity to another park namely Devon House. He said the reason for making the park was to create a green area in and around a populated area.

The most populated area in Jamaica must be Portmore and when one considers that NHT makes most of its revenues from that area, yet we were not considered for a park.

Now the same Kingsley Thomas has brought upon us, the people of Portmore, a new bridge that is going to cost us $130 for travelling from and back to Portmore. It must be noted that the Causeway plays a pivotal role in the residential development of Portmore and a lot of people including myself would have taken any inconvenience including a toll of $65 into consideration when buying our house.

In the meantime I am proposing that the Portmore residents test the matter with the Public Defender first and urgently too.

I am, etc.,

PATRICK ROWE
