Denbigh organisers need to re-plan
published: Wednesday | August 4, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THIS PAST weekend my husband and I decided to visit the much talked about Denbigh Agricultural Show. First, I must say the organisers of this show assumed that all persons visiting the show knew where it was. There were no signs showing you the directions to the show. We had to stop three different times to get directions.

Upon reaching the show we had to push and bore our way to purchase tickets to enter. After all that we entered the show only to be further disappointed, we had gone to many expos, jerk festivals and other local fairs and I must say this was the worst. The Denbigh Show was celebrating 52 years this year and after so many years this is what the organisers could produce.

The booths were not properly labelled, vendors were sitting on the ground selling a lot of plastic toys and water. Stalls that were supposed to be selling food to patrons did not have any seats for you to sit and enjoy your meal. And the worst of all after paying $300 to enter you then have to pay $20 to use the bathroom.

We were so annoyed, disappointed and disgusted that we left the show without seeing any animals or whatever else was there to be seen. The organisers of Denbigh need to sit down and really make next year's show much better.

How can you have an agricultural show and so many vendors selling plastic toys. This show was a waste of our time and we will never visit again.

I am etc.,
