Thank you, Mr Charles!
published: Thursday | August 5, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM writing in reference to an article published in The Sunday Gleaner, dated August 1, 2004 and entitled 'Charles takes aim'.

In the article, Mr. Charles identified education as his major priority. He elaborated his point by saying that if he were to be elected as the next leader of the country, he would allocate 20 per cent of the budget to the education sector.

This stance taken by Mr. Charles shows that he has the character of a visionary. It also shows that he is very cognisant of the critical role education plays in the progress and development of any nation. I do not doubt Mr Charles' sincerity. From my personal experience, I can truly and confidently say that Mr. Charles' kind assistance had helped me to further my education at a tertiary institution. I have found Mr. Charles to be a reliable, dedicated and committed leader. He is a man of his word and a person people can depend on.

Mr. Charles, I would like to use this medium to say thank you. I encourage you to continue helping others. I wish God's richest blessings upon you and for every success in your future endeavours.

I am, etc.,

PATRINE JAMES
