Outrageous increases
published: Thursday | August 5, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS getting more and more clear that the Patterson administration only caters for rich people.

The tuition fees for students were increased and now the postage rate increases for local letters by 100 per cent for letters to the United States, by 50 per cent to the U.K. and Europe by 55 per cent.

Who is writing letters nowadays? Only people who cannot afford a fax machine or a computer for emails! These increases are outrageous, and more so in the light that most post offices are giving a poor service, and are over-staffed. The Postmaster-General should be ashamed to 'lick' poor people so hard.

I am, etc.,

PEPE ZAHL

Rose Hill, Long Bay P.O.
