Man killed in Spanish Town, bodies found in Lakes Pen
published: Friday | August 20, 2004

SPANISH TOWN:

THREE MORE persons were killed in St. Catherine yesterday afternoon.

The first killing is reported to have taken place about 3:00 p.m. along Brunswick Avenue when a 32-year-old labourer, Dudley Reid, a Rastafarian was attacked and shot dead by gunmen.

Reports are that Reid was walking along the road when on reaching 186 Brunswick Avenue he was fatally shot by his attackers.

Police who went to the scene to investigate were soon summoned to the Lakes Pen area in the vicinity of the Dyke Road where the body of two men, one of Chinese descent and the other, a black man, were found bound to a tree. The bodies had several wounds, which the police suggested appeared to have been caused by gunshots. A burnt-out Nissan pickup was parked close by. The police theorise that these men were taken from elsewhere to the Dyke Road area where they were executed.
