SUZETTE TOMLINSON, public relations and business development manager for Supreme Ventures Limited has resigned from the company to take up a new position with the Michael Lee Chin's AIC Limited.
Although reluctant to disclose details of her new responsibilities, Ms. Tomlinson said she considers the new offer made by the Canadian mutual fund powerhouse too good to pass up.
"There's nothing behind my leaving Supreme Ventures," she said. "It's a great company with which I've had no hesitation to work but I got a great opportunity to work with AIC Limited."
Since Supreme Ventures started operations in 2001 she served as Marketing Manager for approximately two years before her new appointment as Business Development Manager in March of 2004.
"Her new post as Business Development Manager took her to different levels of management. She had great ideas and abilities to do proposals and deal with business leaders. She had a vision for the company," said Mrs. May Lawrence Evans, personnel manager for Supreme Ventures. President and chief executive officer, Mr. Brian George told Wednesday Business that Mrs. Tomlinson was an outstanding employee.
"I don't want to quantify her performance in the company but let's just say she took a company that didn't exist and made it into a household name," Mr. George said. "She will be greatly missed."
Her departure from Supreme Ventures, Jamaica's lone lottery company, comes as a surprise to many even as she attempts to keep it low keyed.
SMOOTH TRANSITION
"I've made the move quietly and silently because I want to make it as smooth a transition as possible," she explained. "I would like to go to a place and do well or do my best behind the big hype."
