...Executives move on
published: Wednesday | August 25, 2004

TWO OF the five RBTT staffers who left to join the investment bank, AIC Financial Group Ltd, have since moved on.

AIC, in a corporate raiding exercise, lured Keith King, who was an executive director at RBTT's head office; Dave Williams, security operations; Alex Buxo, acting general manager, treasury; Raoul Thomas, who was appointed a year ago as vice-president, distribution and Rehanna Mohammed, senior manager, finance. As well, it took on about five clerical staffers and a messenger.

Buxo and Thomas resigned from AIC almost three weeks ago together with another senior manager, James Foster, who was an RBTT general manager in retail banking, a banking source said. Anil Seeterram, AIC's vice-president of strategic planning, confirmed Buxo and Thomas's resignations.

The two plan to start a procurement business. Procurement entails getting the best prices for wholesalers, including large manufacturers, the oil and gas and construction sectors. AIC is owned by Jamaican billionaire Michael Lee Chin and operates opposite RBTT along the Long Circular Road, Maraval.
