THE EDITOR, Sir:I AM writing you this letter on my observation and experience
I have found since I have been visiting an inmate at the Central Police Station in Kingston.
I must say that in my
experience with, and knowledge of police officers and their
functions and responsibilities, I have never seen a more
disciplined and organised group of policemen as the ones I have met at the Central Police Station they have been so polite and so effective in executing their duties. You may wonder how I know this. I have visited the facility often enough to realise that this is the way they operate with all the citizens that approach them.
They never cease to amaze me with the way in which they carry out their roles. Both the young and older officers have proved to be very effective in carrying out their everyday duties.
I have been to the lock-up area and even the inmates seem to be sufficiently taken care of. I have also observed the disciplined behaviour the inmates have. They too are polite, never rude. I have never heard vulgar outbursts by these inmates that would cause me to think that they are treated any less than humane. Mind you, I don't know what takes place when I am not around, but my observations are good and I am truly impressed with what I see.
I think they should be
commended for the role they play and the contribution to our country.
We definitely need more
officers like these. They are true role models.
I am, etc.,
IMPRESSED OBSERVER
