Manning on way home after medical treatment
published: Saturday | August 28, 2004

Manning

PORT OF SPAIN, CMC:

PRIME MINISTER Patrick Manning, who travelled to Cuba on August 14 for medical treatment, is now scheduled to return home on today, according to Works and Transport Minister Franklin Khan.

Manning, who underwent surgery to insert a pacemaker to regulate his heartbeat, was originally due back home on Thursday but the date has been pushed back by a few days. Khan, speaking at the post-Cabinet news conference on Thursday, said that flight arrangements were to blame for the delay.

"The Prime Minister is well and he will be back home in a couple of days time only because there were two flights a week coming out of Havana," Khan said.
