Proud but scared to be Jamaican
published: Wednesday | September 1, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM a Jamaican living here in the U.K. When I watched the Olympics it gave me great pleasure to see Jamaicans performing well. I felt good when Veronica got the gold, and Danny got the silver. If only Jamaicans in Jamaica realised how we have such a beautiful country. We must not let gangs or a ruthless set of individuals tarnish our country.

I would love to come and invest down there but I see the crime rate is very high and it needs to be curbed. May God bless Jamaica and its people.

I am, etc.,
