Men with guns

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WHAT IS a gunman? Is it a man with a gun, or is it a certain class of man with a gun? Or is it a certain class of man with a certain class of gun? I guess the little birds can tell us. If any of these little birds are left to let their voices be heard, after all the macho fun and bloody glory of the shoot.

Put down the gun, all of you. Leave the shooting to the security forces, the gun club target shooting enthusiasts who do not wish to kill anything, and to the few licenced firearm holders who keep it only to defend their families.
