Shame on you politicians
published: Thursday | September 2, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WOULD like to see the politicians live up to the level of intelligence we expect, especially in the area of campaigning for a leading post. Why can't they lay on the table their vision, aim and their commitment to make this land a better place? Why do they have to bad-mouth and trash each other like crabs in a basket?

I thought the 'skettel' attitude was only for the unlearnt who do not know how to express themselves in other ways. Why put down a trying brother? Say what you have to say about yourself and let us decide. Please Mr/Ms Politician let us see intelligent role models in the Houses. Let the young want to be lawyers, doctors, etc. like you, for a change in Jamaica. It starts with you leaders, first by example then by what you say.

I am, etc.,

N. SMITH
