A nagging problem
published: Monday | September 6, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

SPALDINGS IS largely in the constituency of North West Clarendon. It is one of the few towns that contains over 10 schools of various levels including a community college and a training centre. It is rapidly expanding and more and more families are moving to Spaldings and a vast number of school children, shoppers and workers access Spaldings daily not to mention the endless tide of taxi operators.

But inspite of these developments there is a nagging problem lack of proper parking or transport centre. The result is that lives are at risk to negotiate the now confused and congested town. The Spaldings Citizens' Association is now fed-up, frustrated and annoyed at the situation in spite of the forums, letters, phone calls and meetings with the relevant agencies.

While all of this is going on, our M.P Richard Azan is busy and gleefully compiling his achievements for his two joyful years in office. The caretaker, Michael Stern, is in hot political pursuit somewhere.

Although we were told last November that nine million dollars has been allocated for the transport centre's construction, work has not yet started as was promised.

I am, etc.,

DAMION YOUNG

President

Spaldings Citizens' Association
