Hats off to CWJ and the security forces

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I AM a Jamaican working in Michigan. I will like to give hats off to the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) on the remarkable work that they did during Hurricane Ivan, I feel real proud. Too often we hear of the bad things and not just about the JDF or JCF, but about Jamaicans on a whole.
This time I can say well done. I have kept up to date with what is happening in Jamaica by the Internet and again I must say "GOOD JOB" to the Jamaica Gleaner company, you have successfully kept us updated, not only were we able to read what was happening but I was able to see as well. 'Well done'.I felt ashamed when I learnt of looting that was taking place. It's hard for me to understand that at such critical time in our lives, when we should be looking out for our brothers and sisters, we are actually thinking about how to rob them, how disgusting.
My heart goes out to the families that were affected, and to the fanilies that have lost loved ones. We should now join hands together to rebuild the paradise that we once had.
I must add that Jamaica is 'PARADISE'. This is my first time away from Jamaica and please believe me when I say I will not live any place else.
I am, etc.,
