Reasons for pride in being Jamaican
THE EDITOR, Sir: Despite Hurricane Ivan being a natural disaster, it gave me yet again reasons to proudly say I AM JAMAICAN! As I continue to follow the weather patterns in the Caribbean I am saddened and shocked daily.

Ja spared
THE EDITOR, Sir: I am yet in awe of the wondrous miracle that spared Jamaica the utter decimation that would have occurred had Hurricane Ivan not detoured from its intended path.

Australia sends greetings
THE EDITOR, Sir: Stay strong Jamaica, Australia sends its best wishes in these difficult times. Sincere condolences to the families of those who perished and I hope the Windies beat England in the Champions Trophy cricket.

Using the pedestrian crossing
THE EDITOR, Sir: I would like to categorically state one of the reasons why pedestrians in Jamaica are so often hit by motor vehicles it is simply because they have no clue how to cross a road safely!...

Adventists are good people
THE EDITOR, Sir: I appreciated being able to read the article about the donation by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Adventists are good people and it is nice to be able to work with them.

Pulling together
THE EDITOR, Sir: I am living abroad but proud to be a Jamaican.

No risk to travellers
THE EDITOR, Sir: As a citizen of both the Jamaica and the United States I am appalled by the recent travel advisories issued by the US State Department.

No school since 'Ivan'
THE EDITOR, Sir: Both my nieces, ages 7 and 8 attend the Dunrobin Primary School.

Favourite spot for drug addicts
THE EDITOR, Sir: I had to conduct business in New Kingston a few times this week. Twice, after a long morning, I decided to get something to eat in the surrounding area.

Saluting our anonymous heroes
THE EDITOR, Sir: I was impressed by the overall handling by both the government and our utility companies in the recent hurricane and also quite surprised on how quickly things are being dealt with.

Searching for John Paul Whyte and Bernice (Pat) Jones
THE EDITOR, Sir: I am asking for help to locate my father John Paul Whyte, and grandmother Bernice (Pat) Jones. Their last known address is Kingston, Jamaica.

Billy Hutch and relatives
THE EDITOR, Sir: For the past week I have been trying to contact my relatives in Jamaica, especially my dad Billy Hutch who lives in South Manchester. I am presently living in London, and I am worried sick.
