Letter of the day - Hurricane not a natural 'disaster'
THE EDITOR, Sir: I BELIEVE it is a serious misnomer to refer to phenomena such as hurricanes as "natural disasters". A hurricane is merely part of nature's cyclical processes designed by the Creator for the purification and regeneration of the eart

Thanks, from faithful customers
THE EDITOR, Sir: IN THE aftermath of Hurricane Ivan, many tales have been told of the undue hardships and suffering of those who received some terrible blows from the winds, rains and flood.

Leave the top soil alone!
THE EDITOR Sir: I DO hope that Jamaica will take heed to the tragedy of deaths caused by Tropical Storm Jeanne in Haiti. Based on the media reports here in the US, Haiti's tragedies caused by Jeanne was increased due to the removal of the topsoil.

Grateful to NWC
THE EDITOR, Sir: THOSE OF us who have experience d what happens after some natural disaster befalls our area, can attest to the long period of time it takes to restore utilities to customers.

Correcting a false accusation
THE EDITOR, Sir: THANKS FOR the opportunity to correct what I believe is an unfortunate and false accusation against a most loving, kind and merciful father the God of all creation.

RJR: 'Consistently credible'
THE EDITOR, Sir: MYSELF ALONG with other Jamaicans, I believe, strongly commend the RJR Communications Group for their 'consistently credible' news reports over the weekend September 10 to 12.
