Residents of Long Mountain
published: Monday | September 27, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WISH to say thanks to the residents of Long Mountain Housing Complex who went to the assistance of my daughter and grandson during a fire at their home, just after Hurricane Ivan.

Somehow a candle started a fire that burnt out my grandson's room completely and threatened the whole house. At 1:00 o'clock in the morning of the fire, my daughter screamed for help. The response from the persons who heard was wonderful.

They came with what little water they had put aside for the hurricane and put out the fire and averted a real disaster.

I can't say thanks enough to you all of Long Mountain. As I always say - Jamaicans will always help in time of distress. Thanks again.

I am, etc.,

R. MARSHALL MEGHOO
