THE EDITOR, Sir,
THIS LETTER is one of appreciation and acknowledgement of the power of prayer and God's use of angels on earth to perform miracles. September 22, 2004 was a day we will never forget. It will always bring bitter-sweet memories. However, we are proud to say that the mixed feelings we experienced then which comprised guilt, regret and sadness have now been transformed to gratitude and joy.
We use this opportunity to thank all our family, friends, and colleagues who generously offered words of encouragement, and most importantly prayers over the last few days. These words were offered based on the near-drowning incident with our son, Kofi. In short, Kofi was miraculously rescued from a swimming pool. God brought him back to life, totally unscathed via CPR most ably administered by one of his grandmothers.
This miraculous incident has been so deemed not only by family who witnessed the event, but by the medical doctors who administered to him since the incident. Thanks also to Drs. Ann-Marie Woodham and Cho of the St. Ann's Bay Hospital and all the nurses there, especially in Accident & Emergency and on the Children's Ward. Our appreciation must also be extended to Drs. Evans, Forrester, Swan, Henry, Gombelle, and Gamez of Ward 5 at the Bustamante Children's Hospital who were most ably assisted by Nurses White, Pinnock and Robinson, among others.
Thanks also to the JDF Air Wing and the Jamaica National Building Society and Sandals/Beaches Families for their support. Thank you all!
We, are etc.,
HOWARD & GEORGIA POTTINGER
