WORLD MARITIME DAY 2004

JAMAICA JOINS with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in celebrating World Maritime Day on Thursday, September 30.

The day is used to focus attention on the importance of shipping safety and the marine environment and to emphasize a particular aspect of IMO's work. This year the emphasis is on maritime security, captured in the theme 'Jamaica 2004: Focus on Maritime Security'. The Shipping Association of Jamaica, in recognition of this important day, presents messages from leaders in the Jamaican maritime industry.
